2 Upcoming DotNet User Group Events in Connecticut

Looks like the ORM wave continues, with a talk at the Connecticut DotNet User Group on Tuesday April 24th on NHibernate.

 CTDOTNET Presentation: April 24 Tues (6-8PM). Benjamin Day (Architect/Consultant) on 'Developing ASP.NET Applications with NHibernate'.

 Then a new branch of the use group kicks off on May 8th in Shelton. Yea, a little closer to home!

South Connecticut .NET Group: Inaugural Event - May 8th (Tues) 6-8PM

Using Microsoft DLinq Technology to Improve Performance - Polina 
Cherkasova (Senior Proj.Manager/Consultant - AVICODE).
 
The presentation gives an overview of the new Microsoft technology 
DLinq that will be released in 2008 with Visual Studio Orcas. The 
technology is explored in the context of B2B data exchange tasks in 
enterprise applications. The presentation shows how to streamline 
design and improve performance of data exchange tasks using a seamless 
style of coding that is based on features of DLinq. Results and details 
of applying the seamless style to production enterprise applications 
are provided to demonstrate practical advantages of the technology.

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jim Bonnie and I have been writing software for over 20 years. After building financial data systems for Reuters for nearly 18 years I have started doing contract work and am excited about technology and currently focus on Microsoft solutions. DotNetNuke has helped provide a good introduction to ASP.NET web application development, and I am now starting to branch out into other areas. Data Access techniques and SubSonic is something that I am looking into now. This has helped me get an invitation to speak at Las Vegas at DNN Open Force 07. it was a great time. And I am looking forward to OpenForce08, where I wil be presenting on TDD for DNN.

 

Reading the codebetter blogs and attending a nothing but .net training class with JP Boodhoo helped spark my interest in ALT.NET. I attended the first conference in Austin Texas, and it was amazing to see Scott Guthrie introduce the ASP.NET MVC framework.
