Community Server and DNN 3.46 Sites deployed on aspnix.com

A friend asked about creating a website that he could use to build a community around an area that he has a passion for. Sounded like a perfect for Community Server! I decided to try out aspnix.com to see how hosting is there. Even though I heard from Dave Burke that they lost the wizard, one of aspnix's key support guys.

Well the site went up pretty easily, I did need to raise a help desk ticket to get the permissions set for the aspnet worker procees. So, www.pfpnetwork.org is born.

I decided to also launch a new site using DNN 4.3.6, www.intelligentsystemdesign.com, is now live also. This site was a bit more problematic. Apparently, DNN 4.3.6 was not packaged properly. There are some medium trust problems that require some changes to the web.config file. These changes were...

Code Camp III Registration is Open

Code Camp III in NJ on Nov 18th Registration is Open, as announced by Scott W
I was going to give a talk on Virtual Earth, but I have been actively engaged in the job search, so there has been little time. Plus MS launched Version 4 of VE this week, so the talk would be dated.

Things are looking good with the job search and I my be doing the regular commute again soon. Thank god for Dotnetrocks and other podcasts!

The Subdudes start 2006 North East Tour in Fairfield CT

Lida and I just got back from the Subdudes concert, and it was amazing.

They played two great sets (set list attached!), and 3 encores Sugar Pie, Why Can't I Forget About You, and Social Club

They played in Fairfield CT at the Fairfield Theatre Club, ticket stub below also. This is a small venue with about 300 people or so. We were in the first two seats next to Steve and Jimmy Messa.

The first set really started cooking after Brightest Light, and then Poverty and Sarita. John had the crowd singing (or humming, or woaing) along with him, very cool, and then ended with "all the time in world".

The second set was highlighted with Rain and Known being sung from the audience. I don't know how they did it unplugged, but the crowd got a dose of them close up - it was amazing.

The dancing broke out and crowd was really into it, Tommy was trying some jokes and was in a great mood as usual.

I wish that I could go to VT, or Philli....

Thanks for stopping by. My name is Jim Bonnie and I have been writing software for over 20 years. After building financial data systems for Reuters for nearly 18 years I have started doing contract work and am excited about technology and currently focus on Microsoft solutions. DotNetNuke has helped provide a good introduction to ASP.NET web application development, and I am now starting to branch out into other areas. Reading the codebetter blogs and attending a nothing but .net training class with JP Boodhoo helped spark my interest in ALT.NET. I attended the first conference in Austin Texas, and it was amazing to see Scott Guthrie introduce the ASP.NET MVC framework.
